The California Legislative Black Caucus (CLBC) Scholarship Program application is available and the deadline is Friday, May 30, 2014 at 5:00 P.M. The scholarship was established to assist deserving students by offering financial assistance to help them meet their educational expenses. The application is available on the CLBC website. Requirements: Scholarship candidates must be full-time students in good academic standing at an accredited college or university OR graduating high school seniors with written proof of acceptance at an accredited institution of higher learning are also eligible. The members of the California Legislative Black Caucus (CLBC) invite all African American students across the state of California, who will be juniors or seniors in the 2014/2015 school year, to apply for the AALT Program. The African-American Leaders for Tomorrow (AALT) Program is a four-day long residential summer program that is held on the campus of California State University Dominquez Hills (CSUDH). Sixty students are hand selected and receive leadership training and attend workshops on topics such as college experience, career development and financial literacy. Students live on campus at CSUDH. Housing, meals, program materials, as well as transportation during the conference will be provided at no cost to the participants; and for students living outside of Los Angeles county transportation to the conference will also be provided.
